FAULTY HEADLIGHTS

COURT SEQUEL TO CHECK A sequel to the recer t check on the lights of motor vehicles was the appearance in ihe Mgaistrate's Court, Levin, of four motorists who were charged with having wrongly adjusted headlights. They were: Einest Frederick Rolston, William Charles Satchell, Roderick Lewis Scrymgeor and Walter Gwyrn. Each was fined 10s, with costs varying from 10s to 12s. The excuse given by- the latter tvas that he had previously had- the lights adjusted and had npt no iced anything wrong. Since the check had been made he had ascertained that his children, while playing, had struck the light with a football-, ar. d had then attempted to pull ic straight. Had he known of this incident. he would have had the lights seen to. Though he appreciated the facts, the danger to o.her traffic must be considered, said Mr. A. M. Goulding, S.M., when imposing the fine.
