WELLINGTON, August 6. Th§ Govenimcnt has already given consideratiou to the question of undertaking long term reelaraation work, including afforestation. on the sand duue country between Foxton and Patea, according to the reply of the jSIinister of Works, llon. K. Semple, to a question asked by Mr. J. B. F. Cotterill (Wanganui) in the House of Itepresentativos today. Mr. Seinplc said the work was ineluded in j-ho tcn-year -schedulos . of works for Ihe district and would comc up for periodie review dependent on the prioritics of other works and the availability of manpower and plant. It was felt that this work niust be undertaken by the State in cooperation with local bodies as the problem was too large for local body effort alone.
