OBITUARY
— 9 — MRS. SAMUEL MORGAN Otaki suffered a sad loss in the sudden passing of Mrs. Samuel Morgan, at ihe age of 67 years, which took place at her residence on Friday evening last. Born in Wellington on July 4, 1880, Mrs. Morgan came with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Hancox, to Otald at the age of six months. She had resided in Otaki and district ever since. In 1898 she married Mr. Samuel Morgan, the sixth son of Mr. and Mrs. John Morgan, of Tawa Flat. The young couple spent a few years in Otaki, and then moved to Manakau, living there for 17 years. From there they went to Te Horo, where Mr. Morgan engaged in farming for a time, eventually returning to Otaki, where Lhey have resided ever since. Though Mrs. Morgan had not enjoyed the best of health for some years, "and suft'ered from deafness, she was of a very bright disposition, and it was always pleasing to see her smile and welcome to her home for any friends. She leaves her husband and an adult family of nine — five sons and four daughters — Redvers (Palmerston North), Neil (Petone), Clarence, James and Lloyd (Otaki) , and Mesdames H. G. Wylie (Otaki) , George Williams (Johnsonville), J. McBeth (Otaki) and D. Enright , (Levin). There are nineteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, a brother, Mr. John Hancox (Otaki), and two sisters, Mrs. W. H. Davey (Kairanga) and Mrs. J. F. Fleming (Wairoa) . The funeral, which took place on Sunday was largely attended, mourners being present from various parts of the Dominion, while many beautiful floral tributes were placed on the casket.
