PARCELS FOR BRITAIN

METHODIST GUILD'S WORK Many letters from grateful recipients of food parcels sent to Britain were received at the July meeting of the St. John's Methodist •Guild. It was reported that a further 25 parcels are to be sent next week, and another 25 before Christmas. The meeting was opened by Mrs. Kennerley with devotions and, a reading from Rita Snowden's_ "A Thousand Sunrises on Humility." The visiting' committee reported that 24 visits had been made during the month. The visitors for August will be Mesdames King and Kennerley. The competition for the best plain and the best fancy aprom was won by Mrs. King and Mrs. Burnham. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Me'sdames King and Mudgway, and the meeting was closed with the Benediction.
