Personal Miss Shona Johnson" has returned home after spending a holiday in the Auckland district. ' Mr. T. A. Taylor, of Dunedin, spent the weekend in Shannon as the guest of Mr. and Mrs." J. A. Roach, Stout Street. . Mr. H. L. Nori;4s, of the local post olfice staff, left. on Mohday to spend a three weeks' vacation with his parents at Wanganui. Mr. Ron Grant, of the post office staff, who has been on annual leave, returned home on Monday and has resumed his duties. Mr. H. J. Fox has taken up his appointment as 'the new veterinary surgeon at the Shannon Dairy Company. Mr. and Mrs. Fox have moved into their new home near the factory. The friends of Mr. J. Sanderson, Margaret Street, will be pleased to hear that he is progressing favourably. Mr. Sanderson is still an inmate of the Palmerston North Hospital following an accident at the dairy factory> A Mild Month Mild conditions prevailed for the greater part of the month of July, and pastures which received a a serious set back as the result of the severe flooding during the last few days of June have made splendid progress. Some frosts were experienced during the month. However, none were severe.
