CONCERT AT TE HORO

W.I. DRAMA CIRCLE GIVES PRESENTATION The Te Horo -Women's Institute drama circle rendered a very enioyable cancert in the Te Horo Hall • to pay expenses arising from the drama festival. The president of the institute, Mrs. Johnson, welcomed the many visitors and thanked the Otaki Institute smging circle, who'so readily provided items, and the* convener of the drama circle, Mrs. Spiers, and her helpers for the hard work they had put into the plays to make lt a such a huge success. The Otaki Institute choir, under the baton of Mr. W. H. Townrow, opened the concert by singing three brackets of . songs, "Water Lilies,' "Sleep my Princess," and "John Peel." Later in the evening they sang "Spring, Summer" "Oh Peaceful Night," and "Oh, Who will O'er the Downs." Mr. Townrow sang "Captain Mac," "The Fat Little Fellow With His Mammy's Eyes." The trio, Messrs Townrow, James and Lumley, rendered "Cockles aiid Mussels," "Little Farm Well Tilled," and "Perfect Day." Later they sang "Dear Little- Shamrock" and "Goodnight

Ladies." The senior members of the Women's Institute presented a play, those taking part being Mesdames Johnson, Spiers . and Mills, and MisseS N. Smith and P. Morgan. Miss Fat Fogden gave recitations, "Jim," "Tea in the Garden," and "Infant Proteges." Mr. Lumley sang "The Sunshine of Your Smile" and "The Great Red Dawn." The junior members of the drama circle staged a play, those taking' part being Misses K. McDonald, P. Morgan, H. Spiers and N. Smith, and Mr. K. Rogers. Mr. James sang "The Egg" and "When Noah Hung Out .in the Ark." An operetta was frroduced by Mrs. Styles and was played by Mesdames Mills, Johnson and Spiers, and Misses H. Spiers and K. MacDonald. Mrs. Styles recited "Teaching Them to Drive" and "She Swallowed a Fly." Mrs. Bartholomew very ably presided at the 'piano. The National Anthem brought a very enjoyable evening to a close.
