THIRD LARGEST BRIDGE IN THE WORLD
N Receivecl Friday, 7 p.m. LONDON, August 1. The Minister of Transport has authorised the construction of a bridge over the Severn Estuary at a cost of £9,000,000. The hridge will be the largest 'tn Europe and the third largest in the world. , The scheme, which will take several years to complete, will he started next spring. The ceptre span'will he 3,300 feet long and have a . vertical clearance for ships of 120 feet in the centre at high tide. There are two side spans each of 1000 feet long. [The Severn flows into the Bristol Channel.]
