LONDOX, .Tuly 31 An official announcement from Buck ingham Palace (onight stated: "The King and Queen ha\e approved that the marriage of I'rincess Flizabeth and Lieutenant Pliilip .Mouut batten shal! take place in West minster Abbey at 11.30 a.in., G.M.T., 011 Thursdav Novem ber 20, 1947." Iiculer's eourt correspondent says Princess Klizabeth is following the example of her two uncles, the Duke of (Holmes! er and the late Duke of Kent, eadi of whom married in Xovembe r. This will be the first Royal wedding in Westminster Abbey for 13 years. It is expected that the Archbishop of ('aiiterlniry will soleinnise the marriage wilh the Archbishop of York taking parl in the service. There will almost certainly be a st'ate drive from Duckingham Palace to the Abbey. Arraiigeinents have already been niade to displav " all 1'rinces.s Lli/u beth's wedding presents in Ihe State rooms of Si. .James's Palace. Following precedent, the public will be adniitted to see the presents on the pav ment of a sum, which will be devoted to charity.
