IMPORTANT STATEMENT EXPECTED
Received Friday, 11.10 a.m. LONDON, July 31. As a result of the hanging of the two British sergeants by Irgun terrorists, the British authorities in Palestine are expected to issue an important statement within the next 24 hours. The High Commissioner, Sir Alan Cunningham, is understood to have conferred today with members of the Executive Council and high Army olticials, including the G.O.C., Lieut.-General Macmillan. Reuter 's Jerusalem correspondent says it is reiiably reported that Sir Alan will demand full co-operation from the Jewish community "in every sense of the word" in combating the terrorists, who in the past fifteen days have been responsible for the deaths of 15 Bi'itish soldiers and police.
