TO VISIT NEW ZEALAND

WINNER OF OTAKI SHIELD Mr. Peter B. Cruickshank, this year's winner. of ' the Otaki Shield, which was presented to Robert Gordon's College, Aberdeen, by the relatives of the late Captain Archioald Bisset Smith, V.C., would arrive in Wellington before the end of July on a visit to the Dominion, stated the Minister of Internal Aiiairs, Mr. Parry, yesterday. New Zealanders would aiways remember, added the Minister, the heroism of Captain Smith— a former pupil of the college — in going down with his ship the Otaki after a gallant action with the heavily-armoured German raider Moewe. The vessel belonged to the New Zealand Shipping Company, which gave each winner of the commemorative shield a free return trip to New Zealand. Mr. Cruickshank is the fourth winner of the shield to make the trip and a complete itinerary is being arranged for him.
