WELL-KNOWN HORSE FANCIER HAS 90TH RIRTHDAY A well-known North Island horse fancier, Mr. Charles Hartley, of Rangitikei, celebrated his 90th birthday recently. A keen and accomplished musician, Mr. Hartley plays a variety of instruments, and on the occasion of his birthday party he himself supplied the mUsic for dancing. Mr. Hartley was the owner of Va:n. Detta, a one time charnpion hunter, and a judge at many horse shows and hunt club "events. One of his daughters, Mrs. L. T. Green, resides in Levin, and two of his sons are Tom Hartley (Foxton) and Henry Hartley (Poroutawhao) . Over 200 attended his birthday celebrations.
