RAFT EXPEDITION'S PROGRESS
Received Tuesday, 8.5 p.m. NEW YORK, July 21. The Kon Tiki raft expedition radioed today that they -were now within 300 miles of Pukapuka which is Ihe uearest island of the Tuamoto group. On arrival at Pukapuka the raft will have drifted 3900. miles since it left Calloa, Peru, on April 29. The expedition, after makipg a landfalt at Pukapuka will con tinue to Tahiti.
