WELLINGTON, July 21. A decision to recommeud to the couucil of the New Zealaud Eugby Uniou that it frame a notice of motiori for the next annual meeting urging„an' altcration in the rules governing Ranfurly Sliield inatc.hcs, ,to provide for oulsido referees, was reaehed at today's meeting of the management committee. This action followed a protest from the Otago Union at the decision of the management committee in upliolding Southland's insistence on appointing a home referee for the OtagoSouthland Ranfurly Skield match. The following selecvtors were approved for, the. New :;Zealand 'Maori team: — Mes'srs T. Frdrfeh (Auckland), W. T. l'arata (Sonth tslahd), Wi Barclay (Nortlf Auckland), Pene Whaipooti (East -Coast).
