For health reasons Cr. C. H. Cockrell, at the Levin Borough Council's meeting last night, asked leave of absence until the end of the present term in November. The .cpunq.il. granted his request. Sir Archibald Macindoe, the famous New Zealand-born plastic surgeon, left 'London for South Africa by air during the weekend. In Johannesburg he will be the guest of one of his former students and Will lecture at the University of Witswatersrand on facial grafting. Before returning to England Sir Archibald will visit Tanganikya where he will stay with a former patient, Mr. Robert Johnstone, who now is District Commissioner.
