EXPLOSION IN FRENCH OIL REFINERY
LIVING TORCHES HURLED INTO COURTYARD Received Saturday, 10 a.m. PARIS, July 18. An explosion in the great Franco Colonial Oil Refineries at Bordeaux hurled living torches into the courtyard of the works. Of nineteen workers seriously burned, five are expected to die. Twenty others were slightly injured. The explosion ignited over 20,000 gallons of petrol and the flames did £250,000 worth of damage before firemen, after three hours, controlled them.
