CHRISTCHURCH, Julv 16. In a bright exhibition the South Island University team beat North Island at Lancaster Park by 17 points to 3. In the forwards the Soiitli were the lieavier team. Tliey had little advantage" over tlieir opponents, but exeelled in loose dribbling rushes. A feature of the game was the exhibition by Ivelly (South) fullback, and win'g three-quarters Sweet and McLeod (North) and Botting (South). The following team has been selected to represent New Zealand Universities against Canterbury at Lancaster Park on Saturday: — Fullback, J. W. Ivelly (Canterbury); three-quarters, A. S. McLeod (Wellington), G. Moore (Otago), I. J. Botting (Otago); fiveeighths, R. R. Elvidge (Otago), C. ' Geary (Otago); halfbaek, R. Jacob (Wellington); forwards, A. Foster (Otago), D. Gordon (Canterburv), J. D. Stewart (Canterbury), G. S. Walter (Auckland), A. D. Mclvenzie (Canterbury), O. S. Meads (Wellington), R. T. Shannon (Wellington), K. O'Connor (Otago).
