XEW YORK, July 15. Joe Louis will not defend the heavyweight title during 194-7. This was decidcd at a meeting today of Louis, his managcr, Mr. Marshall IMiles, and Arr Sol Strauss, acting director of thc Twentieth Century Sporting Club. In stead of a championship match previously scheduled for ' September 19. Louis will light two ten-round non-titlf affairs in Madison Square Garden during the autumn and winter. Mr. Strauss said the club would specialise in heavy - weight bouts from now on until tli spring in the hope of flnding a topnotch contender for the heavyweighl title next June.
