Pcrsonal The friends of Mrs. Ffank Penn will regret to hear that she has had another serious illness, but is now reported to be making good progress. Her daughter, Marjorie, has undergone an operation in a private hospital, and is now progressing satisf actorily. . 1 Miss Gilmer, who has been a resident of Otaki for many years, left on Tuesday .to take up resi^ dence in Wellington. Miss Gilmer, who has made many friends in Otaki, will carry with her a host of good wishes. During her stay in Otaki Miss Gilmer has identihed herself with many of the local o>ganisaUons, and has taken a very keen interest in the Plunket Society and kindred institutions. Pension Payments Old age pensions will be paid out at the Otaki Post Office on Monday next; July 21. Mishap at Waikanae While a car being driven to Wanganui was passing through Waikanae on Saturday it ran into a ditch on the roadside, and suffered damage. The occupants escaped injury. Otaki Band's Meeting " The annual meeting of the Otaki Band will be held tonight (Wednesday) in the Druids' Hall, and as the general public is invited to attend it is hoped that many will do so. For some months the band has continued to make good headway, mainly through the efforts of a few enthusiastic members. The membership is rapidly growing and new instruments are needed.
