PRE-WEDDING PARTY
MISS LOIS BEST ENTERTAINED E A very enjoyable pre-wedding evening was held on July 2 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. Styles. The hostess, Mrs. Styles, was assisted by Mrs. C. Sutton and Miss Avery. The rooms were decorated with bowls of hydrangeas. The evening was in honour of the youngesc daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Best, Miss Lois Best, who was attired in a dusky pink frock and wore a shoulder spray to match. She was presented with a beautifu.l bouquet by Mrs. Sutton. Through the evening novel games were played, the winners being Mrs. Hendra, Mrs. Evans and Miss Joan Walker. A buffet supper was served in the breakfast roorn. Mr. Sutton, on behalf of the many friends of Miss Besf, handed her a basket of useful kitchen ware and a cheque. Mrs. Styles bade farewell to Miss Best and wished her and Mr. R. Knight good luck, health and happiness in their wedded life. Miss Best opened her parcels and suitably replied. Mrs. Styles entertained with recitations, Miss Avery rendered a bracket of delightful songs, and a community sing of an old favourite song brought a happy evening to a close. Mr. and Mrs. Styles were thanked for the use of their home.
