BOWLING CLUB'S PROGRESS
The membership of the Paraparaumu Beach Bowling Club now numbers no less than 140 — 66 active, 31 associate, 27 ladies, five associate and eleven croquet players. During the year the club has won several important trophies. A site for the erection of a new pavilion, 64ft. by 20ft., has been secured, and materials are already on the site. Play was indulged in on the green on 190 days during the season, as against 186 for the previous season. Subscriptions totalled £284 15s and donations £99, maintenance totalled £39 7s and labour £198 11s 3d, bowling expenses totalled £451 13s 5d. The land and green are valued at £700, buildings £551, bowling plant £231 and croquet plant £61. This shows that the club has' made excellent progress since its formation. Otaki Green Imuroved Further improvements are being carried out at the Otaki Bowling Club's green by Messrs. Walsh and Bartosh, who recently completed coring operations. * A new kerbing to the green has been started and also some alterations to the pavilion.
