MISS GILMER FAREWELLED | A meeting of the committee of the Otaki Plunket Society was held recently, those present being: Mrs. Morton (president) and Mesdames Nicolson, Elliott, Rule, Holmes, Tooby, Williams, Radcliffe, Jacobs, Moss, Pothan, Edwards, Turnbull, Southcombe, Blake, Hewitson and Mortiboy (secretary) . Apologies were received from Mesdames Rhodes, Reid and Saunders. Mrs. Morton extended a welcome to Mesdames Holmes, Hewitson and Turnbull, new members who have just joined the committee. Correspondence was read and accounts passed for payment. It was agreed to hold the annual bazaar in October, when it is hoped to raise £100 to meet the commitments for the year. At the conclusion of the business of the meeting, opportunity was taken to say farewell to Miss Gilmer, who is leaving the district to reside in Wellington. Mrs. Morton stated how much the committee regretted Miss Gilmer's departure after serving on the committee for 18 1 years, during which time she had endeared herself to all by her kindliness and loyal service to the society. Mrs. Morton, in presenting a lovely spray to Miss Gilmer, wished her health and happiness in her new surroundings. « Afternoon tea was then served, concluding a very pleasant afternoon.
