WELLINGTON, July 15. Sir John Bagnall, former chairman and rftanaging-director of the S raits Trading Company, a large Singapore tjn melting concern, said on his arrival by the Tamaroa today that within two or "three years Malaya should again be producing her pre-war quo.a of tin. It would take that time to import sufficient Chinese and Indian labour to cope with the demand. Malays did not like ,the hard work connected with ihe production of tin. The Japanese had not actually sabotaged the machines, but many had been worked t.o a standstill, and had to be replaced. Sir John said that Singapore was at present in the throes of mfiation.
