The party was driving alo,ng the highway at Poroti about 9 p.m. when the ear skidded on the metal surfaee and :apsized. Mrs. Ward, who was sittiug m the front seat witli the driver, nas tlirown lieavily on to the roai,- sufFering extensive compound fractures oi Ihe skull, death being almost inscan- ■ taneous.
