HOTEL LICENSEE WARNED
COMMITTEE MIGHT REFUSE LICENSE The adjourned sittirig of the Manawatu Lice'nsing Committee was held in the Foxton Courthouse on Thursday, and was presided over by. Mr. C. C. Marsack, S.M. (chairman) . Associated wiih him were Messrs. S. G. R. Small, F. H. Murray and R. O. Hornbjow. Mr. Crossley sought the granting "of a transfer of 'the license of the Club Hotel, Shannon, from D. W. Lincoln to M. Karews. This was approved. In connection with the granting of a publican's license to M. Karews in respect of the Club Hotel, held over from the July sitting, the health officer (Mr. W. J. Guinan) and Constable Watson reported on work carried out i'n the renovation of the premises as required by the previous meeting. It was stated that while some of the requirements had been attended to, renovations were still required, pariicularly in the bar. The committee decided to adjourn the meeting for a further month and Ihe chairman issued a warning that at the August meeting the committee would flnally deal with the matter, and unless the requirements were fully complied with would seriously consider refusing to grant a license.
