OTAKI FOOTBALL CLUB

MEETING OF COMMITTEE A meeting of the committee of the Otaki Football Club. was held on Thursday night, Mr. E. J. Cook presiding. j ' It was reported that • showers were to be installed at the domain, and other improvements effected. The hope was expressed that this work would be carried out at an early date, before the playing of the matches with Wairoa and Wellington. ' It was agreed that a sub-commit-tee be set up to work in conjunction with members of the Rahui Club to rnake arrangements for the entertainment of the Wairoa team. Messrs. Wiriterburn, Nilsson and Sievers were appointed, with the chairman, to act on behalf of the Otaki Club. A letter was received from the Horowhenua Rugby Union, stating that no further demand would be made for referee's expenses in connection with a match that was. arranged but not plajred. It also advised that R. Raika's application for a transfer to junior ranks had been agreed to. It was thought advisable to have curtain raisers for the matches with Wairoa and Wellington, and it was decided to write to the union asking if it would arrange for these, the matter otherwise to be left to the Otaki-Rahui Club. A transfer asked for by L. Bevan, who desired on account of his work to play for Berhampore Club was agreed to. It was resolved to make appliQation to the Horowhenua Power Board to install electric light on the domain, so that night practices could again be indulged in. On account of the small number of fourth grade players who had journeyed to Foxton, it was decided to make a donation towards the bus expenses. The secretary (Mr. Nilsson) reported that the credit balance was a substantial one, but was below lasj: year at the same date. It was expected that by the end of the season the balance would more than equal that of last year. _ Mention was made that sideline flags, donated some time ago, were missing, and it was honed that these would be handed to the club.
