SPORTS COUNCIL WANTS FULL CO-OPERATION

WELLINGTON, July 10. The making of every effort to bring all major sports bodies into its fold, was approved by the New Zealand Council of Sport as a policy measure at its annual meeting today. Further policy objectives adopted were: — (a) 'A complete survey of sporting facilities both indoor and outdoor to be undertaken by the Internal Affairs Department in conjunction with the Council of Sport. (b) The inclusion of a representative of city councils on all provincial councils of sport. (c) Support for the Govermnent iu its recommendation of community ce'ntres as wai* memorials. (d) Support and cooperation with the Education Department in its establisliment of a chair of pliysical education. The election of officers resulted: — Patron, Dr. H. Petit " (Auckland) ; president, Mr. J. Miltzer (Wellington); vice-presidents, Mrs.' H. D. Muir (basketball), Mr. J. C. Kirkland (Sonthland) ; committee, Misses ^M.' Armstrong (basketball), B. Eogers (indoor basketball), M. Wilkins (women's hockey), Messrs. H. N. Ballinger (table tennis), R. H. Miles (swimming), D. T. W. Oldlield (eycling), W. J. Griffin (surf life saving) , A. C. Kitto (Wellington Council of Sport); seeretary-treasurer, Mr. K. A. Fa-lconer.
