WELLINGTON, July 11. The Wellington Waterside Silver Band will probably fly the Tasman to compete at the Australasian band contests in Newcaslle as a part of the city's sesquentenary celebrations. The conductor, Mr. Rt H. Fenton, said that tentative arrangements Were for the first section of the band to leave on September 9. In view of the time factor travelling by air was a cheaper*" proposition for the band. Mr. Fenton said indications were that the Wellington band would be the only competitor from New Zealand.
