ENGLISH FOOTBALLS WANTED
UNION DISSATISFIED WITH N.Z. CASES • No English football cases have been coming into New Zealand for some years. This was disclosed at the recent meeting of the Horowhenua Rugby Union's management committee, when a letter was read from a local. sports dealer. He stated^that as there was only one factory in New Zealand which made the cases, the manufacturer could impose any quality of case on the retailers and public in general. It was stated by Mr. F. G. Carrington that from a consignment of 30 footballs received recently, only one was the correct shape and quality. A motion was carried by the committee instructing the secretary to write'to the Comptroller of Customs requesting that retailers be issued with import licences for footballs. .. • .
