Miss Phil Mortiboy left yesterday to take up her position in the New Plymou- h Hospital. Prior to leaving Miss Mortiboy was the recipient of presentations. Canon H. E. K. Fry, who has been appointed honorary chaplain to the Bishop, will be in Wellington throughout next week attending the Diocesan Synod. Mr. Claude Grey, who has been in the Palmerston North Hospical for some time, returned to his home on Tuesday night, benefited by treatment received. Mr. Kay Bell', the well-known wrestler, was among the visitors to Ov.aki on Wednesday. Bell is now the proud father of a daughter, who is i'n the maternity hospital at Otaki. The death occurred at Otaki yesterday of Mrs. Anne Ruby Ledger, eldest daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. J. Manttan, formerly of Island Bay, and sister of Mrs. H. J. Arcus, of Otaki. Mrs. Ledger was in her 44th year. The funeral of the late Mrs. Fox took place at Otaki yesterday, when there was a representative attendance, including residents of Eketahuna, where Mrs. Fox had resided for some time after leaving Otaki. The ceremony was conducted by Canon H. E. K. Fry, while a number of beautiful floral tributes were placed on the casket. All Saints' Guild A very happy and successful afternoon, organised by All Saints' Ladies' Guild, was held recenily in the Parish Hall, which was deeorated with berries and autumn flowers and comfortably heated. Miss Holmes received ihe many guests, who were welcomed by the vicar, Canon H. E. K. Fry in a „ short speech. An imeresting programme had been arranged, consisting of several items by the Women's Institute choir, which were much enjoyed and various amusing games and competitions. During the afternoon a delicious tea was served.
