HASTINGS, July 9. All elasses of store sheep met' with a ready sale at Stortford Lodge today when a yarding of 4000" head attracted a large attendance of buyers. The market was better supplied with wethers and hoggets - than during the past two or three weeks and these met with a ready inquiry. Top priee of the season for wether-hoggets of 34s 5d was obtained for a particularly attractive line. There were fe'wer in-lamb ewes indicating that the seasOn for this class is nearing the end. Sheep: Five-year-olds sold at 36s and 37s, 6-tooths at 36s and 36s ld and 2tooths at 37s. Mixed aged in-lamb ewes' were traded at 35s 4d. Forward conditioned 2-tooth and 4-tooth wethers made 29s and good wethers were traded at 38s to 38s 3d with lighter at 34s ld to 34s 3d and 2-tooth at 33s 7d. Quality wether hoggets realised 28s 9d to 34s 5d with small at 23s to 24s 9d. Business in ewe hoggets was done at 26s 7d to 31s 9d. The rostrum was well filled and bidding was steady for eattle, there being few passings. Values showed a slight rising tendency. Three and a half year steers brought £11 9s, 2£-year £9 13s, rising twq-year £8 15s to £10 7s 6d, 18months £7 ls, good weaners £7 2s 6d, and .smaller £5 2s. In-calf cows realised £7 15s to £8 16s, forward conditioned empty cows £10 15s, rising twoyear heifers £7 16s and weaner heifers £3 5s to £5 12s. Values for beef were again stable when the market was very well supplied by a yarding of 240 head. Butchers were not slow to bid on quality. Prime ox made £19 16s to £20 3s 6d, medium £18 3s 6d and lighter £13 3s 6d to £17 3s 6d. Heavy cows sold at £14 6s, prime £11 18s 6d to £13 8s 6d and lighter £10 ls to £11 3s 6'd. Values for prime heifers ranged from £13 16s to £14 11s with lighter down to £11 3s 6d. Runners sol'd at £4 12s 6d to £6 7s and vealers at £5 and £5 ls.
