REBUILDING OF COVENTRY CATHEDRAL

Received Wednesday, 7 p.m. LONDON, July 9. The report of the Harlech Commis'sion into the rebuilding of Coventry Cathedral destroyed by German boinbing in 1940, recommends that the new cathedral should b-e in the English Gothic style but not a reproduction of the previous building. The spire of the old cathedral whicli eseaped demoli tion and which for centuries has been the ch'ief landmark of Coventry, will be incorporated in the new biulding. The new cathedral will .aecommodate 1000 and will cost between £250,000 and £500,000.
