MINISTER'S STATEMENT ON PETROL POSITION
♦ WELLINGTON, July 8. In an urgent question in the Housi of Representafives, .Mr. W. Bullxva: asked the Minister of Supply if ht would state the position iu regard f the future supply of petrol. ' ' Reports are circuiating in regard tt, the likelihool of rationing and trans port opei'ators and users are much con cemed," said Mr. Sullivan in a note t the question. , Mr. Nordnieyer, replying, said: "Th« present petrol stock position is good It is actually better tha'n it has. been for some months. More tlian 23,000,00(' gallons are held in the petrol eom panies ' tanks and additional suppiies have been received to- cover the in creased demands of road transpori operators. The Government anticipates that ample warning will be given by the United Kingdom authorities ii these additional supplies are likely to be terminated. ' ' Mr. F. W.
