LONDON, July 8. .The Society of Motor Traders aud Manufacturers states that the oiitput of cars and eommercial vehicles in Britain :during May was the highest reached during- the postwar i>eriod. The value ;'of motor vehicles exports for May, not :including fractors,, was £7,000,000. This inc'luded over 12,000 cars and 4000 eommercial vehicles. The Minister of Supply, Mr. Wilmot, referring; to the record rate of production: in the niotpr vehicles industry, in a sppe'ch at Coventry, said he hoped' to be .able to increase the allocation of steel to the motor industry by -ten per cerif during the final . quarter of the yeaf., . -/y : • ' .
