INSTRUCTIVE OUTING
J LEVIN YOUNG FARMERS VISIT WELLINGTON • Rec,ently the Levin branch of the Young Farmers' Club travelled by bus to Wellington to- view, by arrangement with- the .'Levin- and Wellington Junior ChamjberjS of Commerce, various places of inter-, est. Arriying in Wellington . at 9.30 a..m., members of the party were met by the president and executive of the Wellington Chamber,, who welcpjned them to Wellington and also told them the day's programmg. The first place vjsitgd was the Municipal Milk Department, where 'members were given an opportunity tp view the process of pasteurisation and bottling of the raw mjlk, which many supply to Wellington daily.- The partw then went on to see the telephohe V exchange, the automatic exchange / and the overseas and New Zealand toll departments. After a fprm.al wflcome ' to the cjty of "WeiUngton by the Mayor, Mr. Will Appleton, in his office, . the party proceeded to the Wellington Junior Chamber rooms to be enteftained at lunch by members of tlie Junior Chamber,.- Although jhero was not time to gp for a drive up Mt. Victoria, a very pleasant panorama of Wellington was seen from Kelburn, . ; The Ford assembly workshops at Petone were ne^t -jyisited and the way in which thea vehicles ' were turned out interested everyone, After yiewing Part of the rai%ay workshops, at Woburn,' the party went to Lower Hutt to have tea an4 then started back to Levin. The club's thanks are extended to the Levin aud Wellington Junior Chambers of Commerce for the very pleasant day theytprovided.
