Her many friends wish her a speedy return to health.. Card Winners The prize-winners at the weekly card tournament conducted by the local branch of the Labour Parity in Laurvig's Hall on Priday evening were Mrs. Kenny and Mr. Moore, Senr. Table Tennis Club The newly-formed table tennis club is making excellent progress. At present there are 44 members and new players are attending each playing night. The club holds weekly games in the Parish Hall each Wednesday evening. Fortune Smiles on No. 13 Fortune smiled on a local punter at the Trentham races. on Saturday when he obeyed an impulse. The race was the Whyte Handicap and the horse was Fortune's Smile. When the horse carae on to the course it had drawn the thirteenth position ait the barrier and 1 was number 13. When adding up the number of letters in the horse's name,- the punter found that they also totalled 13. It was on this impulse that he backed the horse, which duly won.
