It was hoped that New Zealand would delay final deeision tili the last possible moment. Advice to this effect was received at today 's meeting of the management eommittee of the New Zealand Eugby Union. The text of a eable from the South African Eugby Board was: " Oui agents here and in London have investigated every possibility inclnd.ing R.P.N. via Singapore, a'lso per PJSf.O. to Colombo and thence per Bank Line to Durban and also air possibilities. They are still elosely watching the sitnation and onr government is supporting their efforts in London. No eompany can make definite bookings more than foiir months ahead. The caneeilation of the tour would eause ,much disappointment and we snggest that you delay deeision, but if im possible we suggest that all future tour fiommitments be left to the London conf erence.
