STOCK LOSSES HEAVY

WELLINGTON, July 8. Stock losses in the recent South Wairarapa floods have now been ascertaihed. They are 3000 sheep of all classes, 152 cattle of all classes, 24 pigs, one horse, 26 head of poultry and two apiaries. Mr. E. C. Holmes was the heaviest loser, his losses being 1300 breeding ewes and 100 cattle. The still almost inaccessible Burling Estate Station lost 300 sheep. This station is still reached by boat by a roundabout route. The Kumengc Company has lost 300 breeding" ^wes and Mr. R. C. Lysnar 130 ewes.
