In the event of negotiations fnillng between the National Beekeepers' Assoeiation and the Government for the granting of subsidised sugar to beekeepers, the exeeutive of the assoe.iation will again take up with the Govern ment the niatter of the remission oi dutv on sugar for beekeeping. This wa? decided at the eonference of the asso ciation wliicli finished today. The eonference further deeided that the Government be asked to set up a division of apieulture, witliin the Agrieultural Department and suggested this change be brought about at the termmation of otfic-e of the present Direetor of Horticulture. Ofiicers were eleeted as follow: President, Mr. K. A. Field; viee-president. Mr. E. D. Wiiliams (Waikato); exeeutive, Messrs E. .T. Kirk (Wanganui), J. R. Barber f Waikato), .T. M'cFadzien, junr. (Otago), T. E. Pearson (Christehureh). Messrs T. Pearson (Auckland), A. H. Davies (Whangarei) and R. Stewart (Heriot) were eleeted li-fe members of the assoeiation.
