NORTH AUCKLAND DELUGED
AUCKLAND, July 3. Flooding following heav3' rain and high tides the last few days caused slips and minor datnage in North Auckland Farmlands are under water in severn! parts of the province but no serious losses have been reported. Rising waters in the Kaukapakapa district caused a slip on the railway line betweert Tahekeroa and Ahuroa on Wednesday night. Str^eams backed up over the main road a quarter of a mile south of Kaukapakapa. Scores of acres beside the swollen Kaipara river were flooded in the valleys south of Helensville. In some places the water was as high as fence posts and only tree tops were vis ■ ible in otlier places. A small girl waded up to her thigiis to reach scliool. Although there has been heavy rain in the far north, there has been nu flooding. The Whangarei arca had near ly 2 inches of rain during Wednesday and early today. i i 1 HU rHC_ i ill
