MOTOR CYCLE CLUB
— ^ POSSIBLE FORMATION IN DISTRICT With the object of forming a motor-cycle club in the district, logal enthusiasts gathered in the band room recently, there being a fairly Jarge attendance considering the bad weather. The scheme was outlined by the convener, Mr. R. Gallagher. Following considerable discussion it was decided that every effort be made to aseertain the number of motor-cyclists in the district and interest them in the scheme. Motor-cycle clubs have been very active since the war and their activities have become increasingly popular throughout the Dominion. It is the intention of ihe spohsors of the local club to conduct organised weekend visits to other clubs and make tours of the countryside, besides holding competitions and reliability trials, beach and grass track races and organising social events. Ohe of the aims of the club would be to instruct young riders on the care arid maintenance . 'of their motor-cycles, and ensiire that they have a thorough knowledge of traffic laws. A fiirther meeting will be held, when it is hoped that the scheme will be well under way.
