HORSES FOR TRENTHAM

The weather was fine after frost for the gallops' at Awapuni yesterday mornihg when interest was centred in the work "of the horses wliich will race at Trentham on Saturday.- The flags were wide out on the course proper, the go,mg was slow, but good, and the light was bad for the jumpers. '• Red Glare (B. Boreham) went with Moderate ( J. Garth) over a . mile and after taking 1.17 for the first five they were home well ih 44. Red Glare, ridden by A. G. Waddeli, and Lanoma, ridden by P. Cleaver, went twiee round over the big - fences on Mo'nday and Lanoma 's effort was the better of the two. Red Glare and Lanoma will be ridden by Waddeli and Cleaver at Trentham. Newel Post (W. J. Broughton) and Lord Bradbury went pleasingly over seven in 1.39, and they were home in better than 42. Cinereous (J. Harris) sprinted half a mile in 54, being timed home from the three in 40. Oue of the best gallops of the morning was that of Tremello (G. R. Tattersall) over seven in 1.38. He covered the first half mile in 57 and was home easily from the- three in 41. Lanoma (A. Bain) worked smoothly once round at a bit better tban threequarter pace. Blank Cheque (Tattersall) and Fairhome (Broughton) galloped seven in 1.41, the last three in 43. MarshalJ Cook (Miss Freda White) and Tula (A. G. Waddeli) gave a good exhibition of jumping during a trial over 'five hurdles. y • */•, ' Later Rink (S. Waddeli) Park Light (D.
