ON THE GOLF LINKS
CONDITIONS GOOD AT LEVIN DESFlTE RAIN All golf on the Levin Club's Cheslyn Rise links was abandoned last Saturday when heavy rain made conditions impossible. The following day, however, dawnea clear- and cold and conditions were very gdod. Even the strongest critlcs could find no serious faults with the course. Thirty or 40 players turned out on Suhday, some for friendly matchfcs and others for D.C.L. or Karakamea Cup games. The return trip to Oroua Downs had to be postponed as Oroua Dqwns lfhk^ had three fairways under water. It is hoped to, play this return match later in the season. Next Saturday the first qualifying round for the club' championships will be £layed and members are reminded of the three gradfes: — Senior, handicaps up to 13; intermediate, handicaps 14 to 18; junior, handicaps 19 to 24. The draw will commence at 12.45 p.m, sharp and if sufficient playefs are on hand they may go out earlier,
