PROBLEM OF FEEDING STOCK IN WAIRARAPA

■Press Association

By Telegravh-

MASTERTON, July I. In some parts of the lower valley the floods are receding, and many areas are now clear of water. As ohe fences are dowh on a large number of farms, and stock is wandering in search of food, it is suggested that some organisation will require to be established to prevent them from starving. Food is being dropped by aeroplane to marooned settlers at Kumenga and also to twelve settlers marooned at Te Hopai. The position has much improved throughout the lower valley and north Wairarapa.
