The followin^ survey of the roads gffeptefl hy flood waters was made " at 1 p.m. today by the Automobile Association's offtcer in Levin, Mr. R. Keenan: — , Him^ahfi to Pgliperstoii North r " Closed. Haywards Road; Open, but very muddy. Pope's Head to Masterton: Closed. Pope's Head to Hinakura: Closed. Featherston ' to Western Lake; « , Closed, ~ Featherston, to Lake Ferry, via > c Kahutara: Closed. Hinakura, Haurangi and Dyerville Roads: Ali closed. Featherston to Masterton: Open. Masterton to Lake Ferry: Open. Masterton to Pope's Head: Open. Ponatahi to Te Whiti: Open/ Desert Road: Open, but should only be used in cases of emergency as road surface is very muddy after snow. Akatarawa Road: Open. Paramata to Wellington: Open. The A.A. repprts that there is a big slip o ji the Hutt Road near the overhead bridge, but is is pasS'able. Thd road 'to Palmerston . North via Shannon is now clcar. /
