The Y"orkshire Post textile eorres pondent states that the British woollen industry, already one of the six largesi exporting trades in the country, is to in asked to make an all out efTort to earn more dollars and. othqr hard currencx before the end of Marcli. Wool eloth exports a're to take priority over th( home trade and manufacturers haci already been iuformed tliat there wil be a drastic curtailment of allocatiom of raw niaterial for the home markets This cut is likely to cause an outcry from home manufacturers and tlu public owing to the great shortage oi all .classes of woollen fabrics, par ticularly in the clothing and furnisliing trades. The Board of Trade has already indicated to a number of woollen manu facturing lirms tlie quantities of clot L for export they are expected to malu before the end'of March and they have been invited to apply for any quantitv of raw niaterial they consider they can liandle. Both woollen and worsted manufacturers whose " products may bi npecially in request for export, are U be allo-wed to sulistitute export foi home business during the July-October periud. .
