MARKET REPORT

Messrs. Townsend and Paul, Ltd., fruit and produce mercnants, Wellington, report that a very ready sale has existed for all varieties of fruit. The small supplies of Chinesfe gooseberries that have come to hand have been placed to advantage, whlie good tree tomatoes, persimmons, quinces and passionfruit have all been sought. Flower auctions have once again been well attended, quality blooms being placed to advantage. Popular varieties are freesias, violets, anemones, soldors and poppies. Large supplies of root vegetables have been, available during the past week and values have been easier in order to quit. Cabbage, celery, kumeras and good pumpkin have been sought, however, while small supplies of green peas that have been available have been placed to advantage. Smaller yardings of poultry have come to hand, prime birds being sought.
