GREEKS REPAY KINDNESS WITH KINDNESS
Received Tufeday, 8.5 p.m. NEW YORIv, June 23. The President of the Greek American Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Hames Booras, said tonight that the parcels t'rom Greece contained only small portions of non-essentiai sweetmeats and were sent by the Greek people in appreciation of the huge shipments of goods and clothing received from America in their hour of needs. Mr. Booras, who is agent for the Greek Railway Express Company which handled most of the paekages, said not more than fifty or sixty of the estimated -40,000 parfiels contained meat and these were ' ' token gifts ' ' of Greek sausage, a native delicacy. The paekages were addressed to relatives and friends in United States from whom the Greeks received food and clothing. [The arrival of gift parcels from Greece created a surprisc in United States in view of the fact that the Greek people were sorely in need themselves.]
