WASHINGTON, June 23. A new radio communication sys"tem has been; de.voleped, by which. a million words a mihute can he transmitted. The president of the Nationai Broadcasting Corporation (Mr. . !N. / Trammeil) told the Senate Foreign ^Commerce Sub-Committee, in testimony released today, that the new system was known as "ult'rafac". It could transmit *20 novels Of 50,000 words each, fromiNew York to San Francisco in '60 ,seconds. • > Ultrafac ' Was developed by. the Radio Corporation of America • and will he ready for public showing this summer. • - Mr. Trammeil "explained -that eacn printed page would be treated as a picture and would'be flashed in rapid succession.' At the receiving end the pages would be reproduced by a high-speed photographic process for quick delivery. Mr. Trammeil expressed the opinion that radio newspapers would become commonplace.. Practically every form of artistic expression . would become available to the people dire'ct from the studio to the home. For that reason he urged the removal of Government control from broadcasting, otherwise the Governmem; would be able to control what the people' read, as well as what they heard. •
