Received Tuesday, 9.45 p.m, SYDNEY, June 24., Wlien a resident of the outer suburb of Bardwell Park heard a noise at the back of his house shortly before dawn this mornihg, he went to investigate. He noticed a torch flashing in the bathroom /and went towards it. The torch flashed in his eyes and the intruder shot liim in the face at close range, with what apparently was a shotgun. The resident, who is a young man, is now in hospital in a serious condition with a portion of his faee torn away.
