• WELLINGTON, June 22. The sole selector, Mr. W. A. Chapman, has announced the following team to represeut New Zealand in the first soccer test against South Africa at Christchurch next Saturday: Goal, R. Davey (Canterbury) ; fullbacks, A. Harriss (Wellington) and E. Speedcaft (Auckland); halves; M. Gordon (Canterbury), 0. Cleal (Auckland) and L. Davis (Canterbury); forwards, J. Sharpe (Wellington), L. Wood (Auckland), G. Sinith (Canterbury), W. Woods (Wellington), K. Mason (Auckland). Eeserves: V. Smith (Canterbury), P. O'Malley (Canterbury), A. Wilkinson (Auckland), G. Drvlie (Wellington), A. Wallace (Auckland). The manager is Mr. T. W. Diek (Wel lington).. Chatham Cup Game. Marist, holders of tlie Chatham Cup, were knocked out 2 — 1 by Institute Old. Boys in the first round on Saturday. The ground was very heavy. Other cup results were: Waterside 4 v. Stop Out 3, Diamond 3 v. Miramar Eangers 2, Seatoun 1 v. Technical Old Bovs 0.
